I found epic on facebook. A long-standing friend was having some work done and had ‘liked’ their facebook page. We were looking for someone to do work for us, so I checked them out. Because Steve was installing a bathroom at my friend’s house when I rang him, I was able to speak to him straight away.

Choosing the right man for the job

We asked for quotes from a few different companies and there was a big difference in how each one responded. One company could not get back to me because a member of their team was away, but Jason from Epic responded immediately – even though he was also on holiday at the time!
My decision to use them was not based on price alone. I used to get tenders for work on a regular basis so I have some experience in quoting work. Epic were mid-range of the three quotes I asked for, but I felt that that Epic were the right guys to do the job.

A cost efficient solution that made perfect sense

We wanted to have our central heating system replaced; ours was old, and even though I couldn’t see a leak, I was having to fill the system up every week. Initially, I was only going to have the pipes and the radiators replaced, as my boiler was relatively new (about 10 years old) and was covered by a service contract which cost us around £250 per year. After discussing this with the Epic boys, it became obvious that having the whole thing replaced made good financial sense. Over the 10-year warrantee period the Worcester Bosch system would pay for itself – costing no more than the service agreement on the old one.

A smooth operation

The installation went perfectly. The boys had booked in 3 days to do the work, but had it completed in 2. They worked really hard, finishing after 6.00pm one day – no clocking-off early! They were also very clean and tidy, and I encountered no problems whatsoever with mess.

Epic delivered real value for money. The new system works brilliantly, and the team were very professional in everything they did. They were also friendly and courteous, and had the right attitude. I would absolutely recommend them to my friends.
